Indoor Swimming Pools Serving Frederick County

Health Unlimited has two indoor swimming pools plus a large hot tub / spa. Our main pool is 6 lanes wide and 25 yds long (42' x 75') with depths ranging from 3.5 ft to 7 ft. The smaller class/training pool is 42' x 20' with depths from 3 ft to 4.5 ft. Please note that club members cannot swim laps in the small pool which is used primarily for swim lessons, aqua aerobics classes and children's play time. Swimming pool water temps are: 84 degrees in the big pool and 86 degrees in small pool. The hot tub fits 8 people.

The Big Swimming Pool
Our main swimming pool is unique in that instead of having a shallow end and a deep end, we have a shallow side and deep side - the pool floor slopes right to left along the length of the pool rather than sloping away as you swim/walk down a lane. This allows people who have difficulty swimming to walk laps and do other water exercise plus it makes the pool more versatile since we can fill up one side of the pool with shallow activities and not interfere with lap swimming availability (a "traditional" pool uses their shallow end for lessons, etc. which interferes with the ability to have lap lanes available). We essentially have lap lanes available for swimmers all of the time. Also, we are unique in that we have UV light systems on each pool to assist with sanitation and cleanliness: cutting edge amenities for indoor swimming pools. This allows us to keep a cleaner, less smelly environment and use slightly less chemicals in the water.

The smaller pool is available for Open Swims 4:00-5:30 pm Monday / Wednesday / Friday. Our swimming pool schedules may be viewed here.

Pool Safety and Classes
We have lifeguards on duty 100% of the time and we offer swim lessons, youth swim team, stroke clinics, masters (adult) swim team, aqua aerobics, arthritis water classes, lap swimming, open family swim times, and pool birthday parties.

You may sign up for our pool classes even if you are not one of our health club members. Register for all our classes here. We'll see you at the pool!
